Ms Gayle adds a twist to her Hockey series with the first professional hockey player to come out of the closet and announce that he is gay. With the exception of one spectator outburst, most of the people he encounters are positive about his choice. His coach is concerned when his son (who is also gay) begins a relationship with Cole - not because they are in a gay relationship but because he doesn't want to see his child hurt.
The characters are well written and as always, you come to see the players as real men and not just some athlete you see on TV. Overall, the story brings you inside hockey and the men who play it. (

Whether neutral or bias, Neutral Zone tackles subjects we can all get behind. Look beyond the romance and step into the light. Ms. Gayle is once again, on track with the times. Cole and Luke's tale is a fight for acceptance and self- love. It is a journey that is equal parts heartbreaking and inspirational. Life is about being true to ourselves and making the time we have here count. Skin color, religious beliefs or sexuality should not factor into tolerance. That's the lesson that Neutral Zone teaches. (

The introduction of the characters in prior books made me really look forward to this one. Luke and Cole were amazing and it was great to see their relationship advance. What I didn't like about this book was how fast the plot was. They went from a casual relationship to moving in very quickly. I thought I had missed a portion of the book, it was so quick. However, I looked at the length of the book and once I saw that it was only 120 pages, I realized why the plot moved so quickly. I really wish this was a full length book as Luke and Cole deserved to have their full story told. (
