Just a thought - I really enjoyed Kate Atkinson's Case Histories and One Good Turn.

I finished When Will There Be Good News? by Kate Atkinson earlier this week, and loved it. It confirmed why she is one of my favourite authors. I'm now reading the graphic novel version of Coraline by Neil Gaiman, which is a lot of fun. It's the first time I've ever read a graphic novel, ...

I just finished Case Histories....excellent read! I loved the way the author layered each occurance within the chapters, and how each character was so distinctive. The ending was outstanding! I will be looking for more of this author's books! Going on now to The Rest of Her Life by Laura M ...

#32 ~ etrainer......I LOVE Stephen White!!! Kill Me was great, I heartily agree. Just finishing up Case Histories by Kate Atkinson tonight ~ I really found it intriguing, but different than the usual stuff. Can't wait to choose something new from my TBR pile. We are bringing in books ...

I'm about 3/4 of the way through Case Histories ~ I'm really liking it! Thanks to all who recommended it. :o)

I'm currently reading Case Histories by Kate Atkinson ~ beautifully written, but very different. I'm loving it, though. It's a nice break from the usual stuff.

#83 ~ mckait.......so far, Case Histories is not too gory for me, although where I left off yesterday was a little shocking (but I love shocking ~ *smile*)....I'm not too far into it yet because hubby has been on vacation from work this week so we had alot of extra activities going on and I have ...

Porchy, Case Histories sounds good.. a little gory? But good rddear, I really enjoyed Open Channel . It is a sequel, but after reading it there is no point to reading Angel Cafe, the first book, imo. I would certainly suggest this author to a friend. It was a perfect idle sunday read. I ...

I've started Case Histories ~ I'm about 40 pages in and loving it ...thanks for the tip, y'all! Looks like it's going to be un-put-downable! :o) I love the way Ms. Atkinson writes. I may have to find her other books. (I love the title Emotionally Weird.) Heeeee!

Just finished Slow Motion Riot by Peter Blauner. It was quite good. Will be diving into Case Histories by K. Atkinson today ~ I'm really excited because I've heard nothing but good things about it from you here at LT...can't wait!!

Kate Atkinson wrote award winning literary fiction until recently, when she took up writing mysteries. Case Histories is the first and one of my all time favorites.

>160 - coloradogirl14, if you liked Case Histories you should read One Good Turn - Jackson Brodie is in that one too, although the story is very different and I liked Case Histories better. I just finished The Glass Castle which was wonderful, and I've started on Einstein's Dreams ...

Just finished Case Histories and I thought it was excellent! Very rarely do I find myself sympathizing completely with a character, and I found this to be the case for nearly every character in the novel. The only problem was that one of the characters I really related to ended up becoming a ...

#133 porchsitter55 - Case Histories is an interesting book...its main focus is on the characters, and yet, it seems to be pulling together a compelling detective story as well. I'm surprised by how much I'm drawn in by the story! I read some of it in bed this evening, and I kept thinking of ...

#140 ~ Elee.....thank you!!! I will put Case Histories in the slot for next book to be read! Can't wait now!! :o) I will be watching for her other books.

#93-nancyewhite- We read Case Histories for our book club. It was a split decision among the group. I was with the half that loved it. Hope you enjoy it. One Good Turn, the follow-up, is good also. Just finished The Short History of a Prince by Jane Hamilton. I was very impressed ...

I think Atkinson's Case Histories will make my next TBR stack. I am having a hard time narrowing it down to 10-15 titles.

I thought Case Histories was OK, but not amazing (though I get the impression I'm decidedly in the minority on that front). I hated A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian. I thought Case Histories was excellent (the follow-up, One Good Turn, less so). The Falls was also very well done, as long as you don't mind unsympathetic protagonists. And speaking of unsympathetic protagonists, We Need to Talk about Kevin was memorable and creepy. The only other book on ...
