My favorite stories to read are the ones involving surprising twists. There are no road maps in life, it's the little things that determine the directions taken. I received a copy of The Bad Boy's Baby in exchange for an honest review. I'd like to say it was obvious what was going to happen when I went into the story and for awhile that proved to be true. Boy meets girl, boy loses girl has all been done before, but when a child is thrown into the mix it changes the dynamics of the story. In reality as well as on paper a child brings out the true nature of a person. Allowing maturity and heart to factor into decisions more than hormones. The arrival of Zoey was just a step on the ladder to adulthood for Emma and Cam. Cindi Madsen has written a light hearted jewel about love and family.

This whole series has been about second chances and this is a really sweet second chance story. Cam Brantley has returned after a decade of fighting for his country. Hope Springs has demons that he must deal with eventually but the ghosts of his tours haunt him. An abusive father and his inherited anger issues have been enough to keep him from getting involved in serious relationships. The last thing he expects to find out is that he is a father.

Emma Walker's one and only purposeful indiscretion left her pregnant, causing her to put her life on hold once again. But that did not stop her from achieving her dreams and her determination to be a good mother to Zoey and landing her dream job in an architectural firm. The Mountain Ridge project is her stepping stone to the next level. Only she didn't expect her plans to be derailed with the return of Cam. And his discovery of the fact that he was Zoey's father.

Each broken and wary because of their pasts, they decide to give each other a chance for the sake of Zoey. Emma's strength and attitude give Cam hope that they may just have a future together. But first he needs to let go of his demons and give them a chance to work.

Around two years ago feeling a bit sorry for herself, Emma dolled up, went for drinks at the local bar, and “picked up” her longtime crush the local “bad boy” Cameron (Cam) only a few hours before he was being sent out to deploy again. During their evening together, Emma ended up pregnant and because of a few different circumstances, she never informed Cam about him becoming a father. Now Cam is back in town for good, with plans to bring his brother and his dream of the Mountain Ridge to life. Though he is unprepared for both Emma and his little daughter coming into his life, Cam soon falls for them both. However, as they both deal with their new circumstances and grow closer as a family their pasts and future plans come between them. Can they be able to compromise for the sake of each other or will everything fall apart?

While not quite what I expected, I was happy to escape back into Hope Springs to catch up on old and new characters. This contemporary romance has a cleverness that charmed me. Along with a spunkiness in the form of Quinn (from “Crazy for the Competition”) that made me laugh a LOT in this novel. Nevertheless..."

I absolutely loved this book! Ms. Madsen does a fabulous job creating a fun, sweet, touching story that I could not put down and had me in tears. The characters are easy to relate to and written with very realistic, heartfelt emotions. Cam is swoon worthy. I loved seeing the characters from the previous two books in this story as well. I highly recommend this one!
