Kiss Me in Christmas is like a Hallmark card. Opening it up takes you back to a time of simplicity and memories. Some good, some bad but all unforgettable. I hope that was the feeling that Ms. Mason was going for because she got it in one. I received an ARC of Kiss Me in Christmas in exchange for an honest review. Chloe escaped her small town heartbreak to build a career that has soared beyond all her expectations. Regardless of her success, she still feels inadequate and lonely. Easton is the culmination of all Chloe's fantasies come to life but she still doesn't think she measures up. Easton has the same frame of mind in regards to Chloe but for different reasons. Debbie Mason is constantly writing stories that are full of lovable characters that keep readers warm all year round. ( )

This was my first book in the series. After reading this one, I want to go back and read the others. I have perused some reviews and realized that I missed a lot of the backstory. Although, this book was still easy to read and follow without having to have read the previous books. I just feel like I missed out on some serious emotions connected to reading the entire series in relation to this book.

I have had this book waiting for me to read it for some time, however I was holding off on reading it because I figured it would be a nice sweet read to help bring me down from all of the darker books I had on deck. Well, it brought be down... down... down... This book wasn't as sweet as I had thought it would be. My emotions took a nice little bumpy ride from start to finish. It's sweet, it's sad, it made me angry and happy.

I really like this author's writing style. Her voice is very strong and profound. She writes with a purpose and doesn't mince her words. I loved that there weren't long drawn out parts where I just wanted her to get on with the rest of the book. I point this out because that tends to happen in some of the romances I read. That was not the case with this book.

If I were recommending this book to someone, I would suggest reading the others first. It isn't necessary, but I think it would be beneficial to get to know the characters. Many are having stronger reactions to this story than I am because they were already invested in the characters. ( )

Chloe has to come home to her sister's wedding, but has to deal with being a fading Hollywood starlet in a town that doesn't put out the welcome mat for her. She's paired with a hot guy she had a crush on in high school.

I was frustrated with this book. The Christmas, CO series is not a numbered series, but with all of the names and events being tossed around, I'd really recommend starting with the first one published. The romance is not 'romance' (insert wiggling eyebrows here), but a cleaner one. I really wanted some fluff to read while I'm sick, and this was certainly no Pulitzer winner; I think I'll check out book 1 of the series, even though I was lukewarm about the quality.

Also, this marks the first romance novel I've read that wasn't digital or YA/new adult. ( )
