From the moment Ethan meets Sara he appoints himself her protector. There is just something so sweet about that to me. Sara is in a strange city trying to escape the heartache and pain she left behind and encounters her own personal bodyguard. That chance meeting sends these complete strangers on a collision course to love. Although the story is unrealistic and ended too soon. I enjoyed the journey. A Change of Plans is a fun escape that I didn't want to end. ( )

This was a fun read but I really would have enjoyed a little more to the story. Sara has planned her perfect wedding. The one she's been dreaming of since she was little. When her fiancee dumps her and promises to deal with everything himself, she takes the opportunity to run to Vegas. There she meets Ethan Monroe who tries to convince her she could have her pick of men if she tried. After a night of drinking they wake up together, wedding rings on their fingers, and a wild ride ahead of them. Again a fun light read that will entertain you but nothing to deep in the story. ( )

This reminds me exactly of why I am not all that fond of novellas (especially romance novellas). I was unaware that this was a novella when I requested it from Netgalley. Romance novels are so character driven that usually when I read romance novellas I find the characters to be underdeveloped and have trouble connecting to them. Unfortunately that is the experience I found myself in while reading this.

This did start out well and I was very interested in the story and the characters in the beginning. The more the two main characters, Ethan and Sara, interacted and developed a relationship the less interested I became. When I say developed a relationship I don't really mean 'develop' it was more like insta-love (especially Ethan). They would just become overly dramatic at times and it became annoying. I never really felt like I truly got to know Ethan or Sara all that well.

This would have probably made a good novel but without all that extra development that you find in novels this novella fell short for me. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the galley. ( )
