The curse of the analytical brain, I guess… makes it hard to be surprised. It did feel a tad long. At around 75% through, it felt like it should be wrapping up, but it was still going on. So why couldn't I put it down? And why did I stay up way past my bedtime last night to finish it?
Clearly there's something there. It's a page-turner, no doubt. And no matter how preposterous each plot twist seemed -- I *had* to know what was going to happen next. Is there any better testament of a book's entertainment value?
I hate spoilers, so you're not going to get any here. I believe it's best going into a thriller knowing as little as possible. All I will say is that if you want a page turner, or you simply to enjoy a book for its own sake, you've come to the right place.
