What a fun, short, entertaining youth story. This was the second in the series, but thanks to the preface, not reading the first was not a hindrance. Mystery, kidnapping, and ghosts at an English boarding school make for a fun read. But, be forewarned, this story does end in a cliffhanger! ( )

Incidents at Moore Field School by Liam Mosier was an interesting read. It is volume 2 of a series, which is a problem. To fully understand and relate to this book, one really needs to read Volume 1. Also, this volume ends on a major cliffhanger, leaving the reader unsatisfied as the conflict introduced by the book is not resolved.

On the technical side, the book could have used one more edit and review. There are several instances of an overuse and inappropriate use of commas. Also, I found a couple of typos. One more review should fix that. The most jarring aspect was a shift in the POV within the same paragraph. This occurs several times. The paragraph begins with the thoughts of one character, then shifts to another character. Very jarring.

I think the author would be better served if the entire book was written and published in a single volume, rather than splitting it up in a series. As previously mentioned, this volume ends with a major cliffhanger. Who wants to wait until the next volume is published to see how (or if) it is resolved?

This volume is very short, only 90 pages, so a longer book with all the volumes combined would be more satisfying to the reader.

This is a YA book, and I have read many YA books, but this one introduces a lot of characters. I realize this can be common in a YA book as teenagers have a lot of friends, but I think this book introduces too many characters, some of whom are very insignificant.

Overall, I give it 3 stars as it is a good story, but needs some improvement. ( )
