Jake won't turn off the charm on Nikki until he gets what he wants. Who's going to win this game of seduction? Nikki, the headstrong and uncompromising woman who is determined to only do her job, or Jake, the ladies man who hasn't been turned down, because he refuses to take no as an answer? This book had a lot of substance that wasn't revolved around erotica. I would categorize this book as a romance/erotica but it had enough romance and the love chase to not be overwhelmed with sex. Some books tend to not understand the balance between plot and sex scenes and they have too much of one. This one had a perfect balance, and I enjoyed reading Katie Rose's writing style. I give this book 5/5. ( ) lizasarusrex | Feb 3, 2015 | Jake Baldwin is a player from the New Jersey Sonics baseball team, and the character that this book focuses on. Nikki Case is an public relations expert, brought in to polish up the teams public image after the Sonics recent bad press, due to bad behavior. Jake and Nikki are attracted to each other right from the start, which surprises Jake. He'd made a bet with a fellow player, that he could seduce her, but now, for him all bets are off. I liked this story very much. Jake in the beginning was a hot-shot, play-boy, athlete, with girls just throwing them selves at him and he excepted gladly. But after meeting Nikki, he showed his true, caring side, and he also had a really companionate side. He was a great guy. Nikki was a very strong character, very professional in her job, but bit starchy in the beginning, she needed to meet Jake and the team to loosen up. There's a lot going on in this story, with several secondary characters I hope will have their own story. I found it a great read and look forward to the next book in this series. While the plot is not exactly original in itself, I liked how the author managed the inevitable drama due to Nikki discovering the silly bet Jake made at her expenses...and that's the reason I awarded [a:Katie Rose|399542|Katie Rose|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/user/f_50x66-6a03a5c12233c941481992b82eea8d23.png]'s book 4 stars instead of 3.
Moreover, Nikki and Jake are really hot together!!! ;)
