Consiglio. Oh, this was an absolute treat to read. I love Murakami's dream like prose, the simplicity of his stories, his seemingly effortless writing style and the breathtaking imagery he manages to conjure within my mind. Whenever I read Murakami I feel as if I'm having the most restful sleep, his words lulling me into having the most beautiful dreams that I never want to wake from. I truly think he has mastered writing from that 'in between' place, the place between dreams and reality. Stand out stories for me were "Yesterday", "Scheherazade" and "Kino". So unbelievably beautiful ❤️ ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu

"A dazzling new collection of short stories--the first major new work of fiction from the beloved, internationally acclaimed, Haruki Murakami since his #1 best-selling Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage. Across seven tales, Haruki Murakami brings his powers of observation to bear on the lives of men who, in their own ways, find themselves alone. Here are vanishing cats and smoky bars, lonely hearts and mysterious women, baseball and the Beatles, woven together to tell stories that speak to us all. Marked by the same wry humor that has defined his entire body of work, in this collection Murakami has crafted another contemporary classic"-- No library descriptions found. |

Most of the female characters are described by their physical appearance, figure, hair, breasts, sexiness of the clothing and are just there to be talked about or to and they have little depth.
All the men are described by character traits and are built into (usually) well fleshed out and complex characters.
It ends up being a unpleasantly misogynistic collection. (
