( ) This books follows the struggles of very young children learning how to share. Although there are very few words, as it is mostly illustrations-- the story is very easy to follow and understand. A toddler and his baby brother are learning what it means to share and why it is important. They fight over toys constantly! By the end of the story they are learning to play with one another correctly with their dog and all of their toys. This book is mostly illustration so it is not a book for someone who may needs to be challenged. I really enjoy the story and how much it can teach little children about sharing without having to use a lot of words. It teaches great lessons, but it will not challenge young readers. A young child struggles with sharing their toys with a younger sibling. Whenever the younger sibling is playing with a toy, the older sibling proclaims, "Mine!" The younger sibling accidently throws one of the toys into the dog's water dish and the older sibling sees how fun it is. The older sibling proceeds to throw all their toys into the water dish making a wet mess. The older sibling then decides to share with the younger sibling. In the end, the younger sibling proclaims, "Mine!" while giving the older sibling a hug. ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu

"Crum uses only the title word (if you don't count a single "Woof?"), but the various inflections speak volumes about the comic dynamics of sharing...[Barton's] dizzyingly expressive digitized pencil sketches seem to be everywhere at once continually reframing the action to make sure readers savor every gleefully anarchic moment."--Publishers weekly, starred review.
""The two youngsters are simply adorable, and their alternating surprised and gleeful expressions, as well as those of their canine accomplice, are priceless. In a final scene, the women reclaim the water-soaked children in a room now much the worse for wear. Youngsters will eagerly participate in repeated tellings of this watery escapade."--School library journal, starred review. Kirjastojen kuvailuja ei löytynyt. |
