The Edit Book Information page is the place to modify information about a book in your library. You can also do field-by-field edits in the catalog.
[edit] Work Details Tab
Takes you to the work details for this book.

[edit] Cancel
Cancels any changes and returns you to the Work tab.
[edit] Save
Save the book information you have entered to your library.
[edit] Delete
Delete the book from your library.
[edit] Editable fields
[edit] Title
The title of the book. You must enter a title.
[edit] Author
The main author of the book. For compliations and anthologies, many people enter the editor in this field. See Other authors to add secondary authors, editors, illustrators, etc.
[edit] Tags
Enter a comma-separated list of tags you want the book to have. The tagging FAQ covers tags in more detail.
[edit] Status
[edit] Rating
Click on a dot to set your rating of the book. The rating scale is from 1/2 to 5 stars. Click on a star to change it from a full star to a half star. Click on a half-star to remove it.
[edit] Your review
A place for your review of the book. This field is for your opinion about the book; details like price, where you bought the book, etc. are better suited to one of the Comments fields. Links to your review on another site are acceptable; copying a review that you did not write is not.
[edit] Other authors
Enter additional authors, translators, illustrators, editors, etc. here, one per line. Clink on the link "add another author" to get a new line. Set the role for each name entered from the pull down list, or choose other to enter a role not listed in the pull down list.
[edit] Publication
Enter publisher information, such as publisher name, imprint, address, etc. here.
[edit] Publication date
Typically this is used for the year of publication of your particular edition.
[edit] ISBN
ISBN of the book. This field will accept ISBN-10s or ISBN-13s. Information about ISBNs can be found on the LibraryThing ISBN FAQ.
[edit] LC classification
Library of Congress classification of the book. If the source from which you added the book had this information (i.e. most libraries), this field will be populated automatically.
[edit] Dewey
Dewey decimal number for the book.
[edit] Primary language
Choose the primary language of the book. Click on "show all languages" if you don't see the language you want in the pull down menu. The all languages list has both Multiple languages for more than two languages and Undetermined if the language of the book is unknown.
[edit] Secondary language
Set this field if the book has a secondary language.
[edit] Original language
Set this field if the book is a translation from another language.
[edit] Comments
These comments are viewable by LibraryThing members if your library is public.
[edit] Private comments
These comments are not viewable by LibraryThing members even if your library is public.
[edit] Summary
If you leave this field blank, it will be automatically filled in by the title, author, and publication information.
[edit] Number of copies
If you have multiple copies of the same book and do not want to enter each one separately, you can set that information here.
[edit] BCID
If your book has an BookCrossing.com ID number, you can enter it here, and it will turn into a link that will automatically take you to that book's page at BookCrossing.
[edit] Date acquired
Optional field indicating date you got the book. Note the date format is year-month-day, all in numbers.
[edit] Currently reading
Optional field indicating when you started and finished reading the book. If you read a book multiple times and want to track that, additional dates can be added using the "more" link.
[edit] Entry Date
The date the book was added to your library. Not modifiable.
[edit] Data Source
The source from which you initially added the book. Not modifiable.

Add the book information you have entered to your library.
