The NLA has seven reading rooms: the Main Reading Room, the Petherick Reading Room (Rare Books, Oral History, Music, weekends access to Manuscripts and Pictures) as well as providing facilities for long-term academic researchers, Newspapers and Microform Reading Room, Asian Collections Reading Room, Maps Reading Room, Manuscripts Reading Room and Pictures Reading Room.
The NLA is a closed-stack collection / non-lending library, with all items, except reference items, requested online and delivered within 30 minutes.
