In your catalog? Looks like the only date-related field that is searchable is 'date' (as in publication date). You can sort by entry date, though.

Probably if you know the right formatting. Unless you have several hundreds of books, it is probably easier to sort by entry date and look for the date you want.
You can sort your catalogue either by having a style including the field you want to sort by and clicking on the top of that column. For subsorts, click first on the subsort, then on the main sort.

click on the sort icon and choose the field you want in the dropdown. This is in a pop up that may be below the fold on your screen. You can choose a main sort and a subsort.
