I found a legacy library in need of cataloging. It is at Elsing Green, a 17th Century historic site just east of Richmond, Virginia. Most famously, Elsing Green was the home of Declaration of Independence signer Carter Braxton. It is now owned and managed by the Lafferty Foundation, the family that has lived on the site since the 1940s. They have about 2,000-3,000 books that they really wish to have cataloged, especially if any items are particularly rare or valuable.

Here's some info on Elsing Green:

This would be the perfect project for LTers from the Richmond and Tidewater areas. I think all their books could be cataloged within a jam session or two, and one member could curate their collection for the effort of just a few hours per month.

My POC for the Elsing Green library is Virginia Lafferty (virginialafferty at gmail dot com). Please reach out to her for future volunteering efforts.
