SantaThingSantaThing Entry #17

Book tastes

I enjoy SF (especially time travel stories), mystery (especially locked-room and Golden Age), the history of presidential/Supreme Court politics, LGBT+ history. The books with star ratings in my library will give you some idea of what I've enjoyed. The crazy large "TBR: wishlist" collections in my library are full of books that I want to read and don't already own, and if you're inspired to choose books that aren't listed there, that's cool, too. Surprises are fun!

Don't get this!

Horror; right-wing political views

saroz: For Golden Age, locked-room mystery, Dorothy L. Sayers' "The Unpleasantness at the Bellona Club" and/or Agatha Christie's "Hercule Poirot's Christmas." Both excellent. (marraskuu 25, 2023, 6:40pm)
beyondthefourthwall: (I've never signed up for SantaThing for real, but I really enjoy matching book suggestions to predetermined criteria, so I poke around in the ST listings and add comments here and there.)

We have some interests in common (SF-especially-time-travel, LGBTQ+ works, language-y stuff). A few possibilities:

David Ambrose's 'The Man Who Turned Into Himself' or Mona Clee's 'Branch Point'. Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone's 'This Is How You Lose the Time War'. Alison Goodman's 'Singing the Dogstar Blues' (YA but very cool). Oliver Sacks's 'Seeing Voices'. Emily Arsenault's 'The Broken Teaglass'. And if you're at all interested in graphic novels, Blue Delliquanti's 'O Human Star' for sure. (marraskuu 8, 2023, 7:31am)
