Tietoja minusta As a raging biblioholic, books are a large portion of my life. I adore touching them, listening to the rustle of their pages, inhaling the scent of the paper and glue. I love owning them, which is why my TBR shelf is actually a bookcase and several teetering piles scattered throughout the apartment. And of course, I love reading them.

Tietoja kirjastostani Due to space constraints, my personal library is mostly old favorites that I reread for comfort or fun and the ever growing To Be Read collection. Most of what I own is speculative fiction and mysteries with the odd nonfic volume and occasional literary fiction titles.

Hello! My Secret Santa package arrived today. Both books look great - I love the cover design of Incantation. I should really have left them unopened until Christmas day, but I didn't realise it was my Santa package when I opened it!

Thank you *very* much for picking a pair of lovely books,

sandpiper
Well, I've barely started adding in my library and look to see you share -35- I'll be raiding your list for more to read.
Are you a student of the Grey School of Wizardry, by any chance?
I totally agree with you about Hamilton. The books were so much better when Anita was focused on doing her job with the side of sensuality. Now that seems to be all she does. I haven't started the Dresden series yet, but I do have it on my list of things to read (I know, I am a complete and total geek, but I do have a list and would have a nervous breakdown if I lost it). I am looking forward to it. I also love the Sookie Stackhouse series, but don't think that I am aware of Brigg's books. They will go on my list as well!
Hello! I am just starting Modern Love (50 true and extraordinary tales of desire, deceit and devotion) and am reading Year of Wonders. I love Kim Harrison, she is one of my favorites. Her novels aren't light fluff like alot of the stuff that is out there in her genre. Laurel Hamilton is also very good.
Hello to a fellow Ohioan! Love your library! Happy reading.
Long time no speak! I just reread your last comment -- I'm just starting The Prestige myself, after hubby and I were totally entranced by the movie. Now I *have* to read it, although it's slow starting.
Unfortunately, I'm not reading anything fabulous. I'm gearing up towards the end of the year, and I'm spending more time grading papers than anything else! I'm fighting to find time to read Survival of the Prettiest which is a sociological/psychological study on why we, as humans, have a natural instinct that gravitates us towards physical beauty. I just can't leave my academic self behind :)

I've put up a HUGE list of "To Be Read"s for the summer, when I work my brainless manual labor job and can save my whole brain for cross stitching and devouring literature whole. Any suggestions? :)
I find myself yelling at characters all the time. Then I'll yell in my husband's direction about how stupid characters are. If I do that too much, I give up the book.

I admit, I did that a LOT in Thunderbird Falls. Maybe because I've read a lot about shamanic stuff, and the whole point of the book is how little she knows, but most of it just seems like common sense.... I mean, your spirit guide disappears and the next day someone new comes along? DONT TRUST HER. Period.
Got the whole series :) Haven't read the latest one yet, I'm waiting for the summer so I can devote my full attention to it :)
So far, we've got 3 book series in common. Interesting :)
Not many books no, most of my friends feel it pointless to get me books. I did get Gloomcookies 2 which is great. So what literary gems did you get in your Xmas stocking?
Meery Xmas, hope you had a happy holiday
"E-books would be fantastic from a storage perspective but not so much from a read in the bath/pass around to friends to share perspective. " Yup, paper data storage has its merits, in everything except space and weight.

"I need to be more systematic in my approach to adding titles to my catalogue. Are you all organized about how you add titles?" Nope I have enough cataloging to deal with at work, here I just list what catches my eye.

"Do you have a large wishlist? I use mine to keep track of titles I want to read more than for actual gift receiving reasons." Nope I don't I usually buy what takes my fancy, so no real reason for a wishlist.
Thanks for the recommendation, I'll look into getting some immeadiately. And I own all the books on my catalogue and a whole lot more to come. Don't even get me started on a wishlist! I'm actually starting to think that e-books aren't such a bad idea, storage wise that is, although I fail to see how one is supposed to read an e-book in the bath!
I see we share some similar tastes, and similar shelving systems for the book mountains that flood our lives. I'm in awe of both the size and variety of your collection and the time it must have taken to capture all that onto this site.

I'm sure I'll find some new reads midst your library. Thanks for putting it up there.
