Tietoja minusta I've been a bibliophile since forever (I even worked at a Barnes and Noble!) and I've probably spent more on books than clothes. I also I write book reviews for a university magazine (I've copy and pasted them into my reviews section here, if you'd like to read them).

Tietoja kirjastostani This catalog is for books that I've read or books that I own. I actually own only about 400 or so of these titles. I lot of the books in my catalog represents stuff I read when I was younger -- a lot of Fear Street and Sweet Valley.

When rating books, one of the things I consider a lot is what the book is trying to achieve. So, a work of classic literature might get a lower rating than some silly piece of young adult fiction -- the first might be more worthy of literary value, but given the genre, the latter accomplishes its goals more.

If asked to recommend books, some of my favorites authors/books are (in alphabetical order): Douglas Adams, Augusten Burroughs, Angela Carter, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Italo Calvino, the Shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella, Love and Houses by Marti Leimbach, Ian McEwan, Christopher Moore, Chuck Palahniuk, the Harry Potter series, J.D. Salinger, Jose Saramago, David Sedaris, Dai Sijie, Kurt Vonnegut, Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon.
