Tietoja kirjastostaniLibrarything is a joy. I'm a new member. Still having a thrill remembering books read long ago and entering them (especially as they come up in recommendations so frequently).
My Rating System:
5- Beyond compare, almost beyond discussion. Perfection.
4- Fantastic. Have re-read or would be happy to re-read.
3- A damned good book, better than most of what's out there. I hope to only read books at least this good.
2- This was supposed to be a damned good book, but left me disappointed. You may like it more than I did.
1- Crap. Don't waste your time.

Thanks for stopping by. I love seeing all the books that everyone else is reading, too. There are so many books out there that I would know nothing about except for LT. Have a great day!

I think the author of Sex and bacon would be very pleased with both your description of her as well as her intentions, and I agree with you as well--she is very smart and it looks like she is going to have continued success as an author. I probably will eventually read the whole book myself, so I'll write again afterwards. Happy Holidays and happy reading too!

She WAS good--she was more telling the story, rather than reading it, and she sort of acted the whole scene out. I felt like I was "right there", but I really didn't want to be there and I felt more than a bit embarrassed to be listening with two of my best friends. It was like watching porn together--not good! And, I have to admit that I felt really sad for her (that sounds judgmental, but I can get so angry about this topic, especially for all the thousands of children who are being sexually abused) so I wasn't ready to find the comedy in her stories as she has done. My friend bought a copy of her book, primarily because she knew the owner, but we all sort of slunk out of there as soon as we could.
Anyway, as I sat there listening to the chuckles and outright guffaws as I was cringing in my seat--not only for her, but even for the "John," I started thinking about how MUCH we bring our own experiences into the stories we're reading. Soooo, long story, not so short..I'm interested in hearing more about YOUR thoughts and feelings as you were reading the book.
