Well, the audiobook didn't invent anything. It was just a dude reading the unabridged text of the book. Among the six female characters there are 1. a sexy prostitute (victim), 2. her sexy madam (vampire), 3. her sexy friend/love (witness), 4. a sexy reporter who uses her wiles to try to get Harry to give her information on the case. That's not the audiobook's fault; they were in there to begin with! :)

Hi, Shannon!

It's true I didn't love Storm Front to pieces or anything, but I do intend to keep reading the series. Another friend of mine has also assured me that some of the later books are better. The audiobook wasn't the best production-wise, but it really didn't have much to do with what bugged me about the book, which was the "all chicks are sexay" thing and the mystery involving mafia, which is just something I personally don't find very interesting.

But don't fret - I'll be checking out Fool Moon soon! :)

Hello!

The new version of Bride of Deimos is a continuation. My Japanese isn't very good and I've only done a brief read-through of what I could understand quickly, but it's got Minako, Deimos, and Venus in the first story in the book, and it seems to be set a little past the events of the original. I like the original A LOT, and I'm happy to be getting this continuation, but unfortunately I don't like the new one nearly as much as the original series. The art is way worse, it's drawn as minimalist as possible, which is a shame because I thought the original had gorgeous art. And while I haven't sat down to figure out what's going on in the first story, the second story seems to be about a little girl who ice skates. It's a horror story, but Minako only appears at the beginning, and Deimos isn't around much either. There were stories like this in the original as well, but they struck me as the least interesting.

It may be better once I sit down to read it (the first story looks okay), but I have to admit I'm kind of disappointed, especially by the art. I got mine from Amazon Japan (where it seems to have since acquired several negative reviews), but I got the bunko editions of the old series from Aclimate Solution. Their website doesn't look very legit, but if you e-mail them a list of books they'll get back to you pretty quick with prices and shipping. They offer used copies that are in pretty good shape, and their prices are pretty decent.
