Tietoja kirjastostaniMost of the titles I've read are from my library. I currently work at Paris High School in Paris, Illinois, and used to be the librarian at Fairfield Community High School in Fairfield, Illinois. Sometimes I have time to read adult novels for pleasure and I enjoy audiobooks.
I favor fantasy, realistic YA fiction, mystery, and suspense. I'm not a big fan of nonfiction, although a good memoir is acceptable.
I review books for VOYA and love attending library conferences to pick up all the cool advanced reading copies.

I just read your review of The River Between Us (loved it!) and clicked on your profile because you were talking about Richard Peck being from Illinois. Lo and behold, it is Sarah the Librarian from Paris, IL! I had just talked to you via email about a position in ISLMA. I'll have to tell you about my links to Paris!

Saw you graduated from Mizzou. I just started the MLIS program there, and am taking my F2F at UN-Omaha. Any classes to make sure I take? Avoid? Who are the best instructors? Are you working in a library?

I found your review of "Skim" and wanted to connect with you. I work as a youth services librarian and also write a mock newbery blog - come visit at http://anokaberry.blogspot.com/
I appreciated "Skim" for the insights - with humor! - into the lives of teen girls. Not all, of course, but so many. I loved the characters and the dialogue and the richness of the drawings.

I had come across your review of Octavian Nothing Traitor to the Nation Vol.I and found if distressing. I am just a regular person, not one of those importants you spoke of offending, and still I am drawn to the idea that maybe you didn't allow yourself or the book the opportunity to touch you. If you allow yourself to think pleasent thoughts, the language and candor of the book becomes second nature and you can start to expierience the story in a whole new way.
I too had a hard time enjoying this book at first, but I allowed myself time to just sit and listen while doing nothing else and the book took over. I can see why this book recieved the awards it did because of it. I am eagerly awaiting Volume II and I hope that you can try and re-listen to Octavian's story all the way through. He was truely touching towards the end and I was deeply moved by even just this half of his story. His was truely an astonishing life, and I hope that you can find the time to enjoy it, as I did.
Good Luck,
Rebecca

I noticed that you too reviewed "Life at These Speeds." I agree that this is one of the few respectable pieces of running-related fiction out there.
