Tietoja minusta Retired but still curious.

Tietoja kirjastostani Trying to get control of a rather unruly collection. As you can see I buy more books than I get around to reading. I was going to catch up when I retired. As it turns out, that just gave me more time to buy books.
About my book status tag:
wishlist - books I want to read but do not have
TBR - books I have but have not read
read - books I have and have read but will probably not keep
library - books that I will keep (favorites and reference)
memories - books I have read and no longer have

Hi!

I’m sending this note because you are a member of the Seattleites group.

A few of us are starting a book club and I hope that you will consider joining us.

Our first book is In the Woods by Tana French. Our first meeting will be on Thursday, October 2nd, at Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park.

See our thread called Book Clubs? on the Seattleites group or you can reply to me if you want more info.

Thanks - Carol
My retirement is set for August 2009, thank you. My wife and I have been making plans for a year and a half already! ;-)
Hi Bill,
I am still fairly new to this. I certainly enjoyed browsing your books. What are you reading now that you like? I am ready "the stuff of thought" which is ok and Gorgon, which is surprisingly fun.
David
I liked your review of Generations very much, maybe because I could have signed my name to it! I agree with all. As I remember, Strauss and Howe themselves said in the book that a cohort is formed by about 70% of those who make it up, so any given generation has 30% who are "different." I believe they gave Jim Carter as an example, as he doesn't fit the same mold as the other GI Presidents, and that may account for some of his difficulties in office.
We only have the two Generations books in common, but we sure feel the same way about 'em! Martha Huntley
