Thanks for your interest, odysseya. Feel free to have a look around my library.
Hi,

Thanks for adding me to your interesting libraries, and yes, I've read all the works by Agnar Mykle. I Think "Lasso rundt fru Luna" is one of the most outstanding novels ever written by a Norwegian author (besides "Mysteries" ('Mysterier') by Knut Hamsun). I must admit I haven't read all the Paul Auster books I have on my bookshelves, but I liked the ones I read some years ago.

I'm just trying to make a list of what books I've read from "1001 Books" and submit it on the message board at '1001 Books to read before you die'.

By the way: There is something wrong with the 'submit function' (messages disappear), so I will place my list(s) in more than one message.

kik. :-))
Thanks for replying to the invite. I'm so sorry to hear about your grandad - I do hope my comments didn't make you feel worse. Feel free to come along and join us if you ever find you are able. The group is taking off surprisingly well already but the more the merrier as far as I'm concerned.
Best wishes
No, I haven't, though from my cousin's photos, it looks gorgeous. Lots of other family members have been over to visit but we have never made it. Not sure I could cope with all that dark, though I must admit the Northern Lights are one of those phenomena I would crawl on my hands and knees half way across the world to see. I understand you get that privilege from time to time (seeing the lights, I mean, not crawling halfway across the world)? I'm afraid my only links with the country are a) cousin and his wife and b) that I love Jostein Gaarder and Ibsen (and I'm sure there is another Norwegian author I love but his/her name escapes me right now).
Were you brought up to be multilingual or did you have to learn it all as you got older? If your parents raised you that way I am deeply envious. I did some German (now pretty much forgotten) and French (now partly forgotten) at school and have been labouring with modern Greek for years now. Although I love learning Greek I can't help thinking my parents did me a disservice by not having had a Greek au Pair, so that I could have just grown up knowing the language with so much less effort!
Oooh! I have a cousin who lives in Norway! (It's all right, I'm not going to ask whether you know him, but it does make me quite interested in your country - assuming that is where you live!)
Just added you to my interesting libraries. I see we've actually got quite a lot of books in common. Hope you're enjoying LibraryThing so far. I must warn you it can become very addictive and you have probably just said goodbye to work, family, study etc. I even found that, for the first couple of weeks while I was still listing my books, that I no longer had time to read, and that was just silly.
I'm trying to work out where you come from as I assumed at first (because of the time zone you appear to be contributing in) that you were another Brit, but I've now come to the conclusion, judging by your books, that you might be in either the Netherlands (1st guess) or Germany - am I warm yet? Must say it's really nice to have someone else on here who is up and about at the same time as me (or, of course, you could be an American insomniac).
