Tietoja kirjastostani I'm currently working on completing my Philip K. Dick collection. I figure I'll do a chronological read of all of his novels and short stories. What will such a project reveal about his work outside of madness?

That'll have to come after my chronological reads of Edgar Allan Poe, H.P. Lovecraft and Stephen King: the "masters of literary horror." I'm at the beginning of my Lovecraft marathon right now. So far, he's an arrogant racist who writes bad poetry. I'm looking forward to getting to his horror stories, hoping those can redeem him.

A little over 1/3rd of my library was inherited. Even more than that number I haven't gotten around to reading yet. At times, I'm more of a collector than a reader. I'm trying to remedy this malady, but it's hard when there are so many interesting books to buy. In addition to the above, I'm looking forward to finally reading The Bible from cover to cover, re-reading Tolkien's stuff, trying out some Rex Miller and seeing what Brave New World is all about.

A note on dates: I use the original publication year of the work. It's more useful to me to be able to see at a glance that Heart of Darkness came out in 1902, rather than that my particular copy rolled off the presses in 1990. In posthumous story collections, I use the publication year of the newest story. Again, I'd rather be able to see that Nathaniel Hawthorne was writing around 1851, rather than that my particular collection came out in 1963.

Thanks so much for the The Book Inscriptions Project suggestion! I just checked it out and I'm already entranced. Time to start scanning!
