Tietoja minusta I had to include this picture of me. My son goes around the house clicking pictures of whatever he sees most often-and this is how he sees me the most. :)
Like everyone else in this community, I'm a bookworm. I'm an information services librarian at a small university and I love it. I've also recently become head of our reference department, so life is very good. I used to be a biologist, but it got kind of squishy, so I changed careers to bring me closer to my true loves-books and research.
I have a four year old son-a bookworm in training.

Tietoja kirjastostani My library pretty well follows my disparate interests. I've included all the books I own currently, ones that I've read recently that I've either borrowed or checked out from a library since I got my account (late 2006), and ones that I hope to get soon. I want this site to help me find more books and to remind myself of the books I already own that I really need to read.
I've decided to do something kind of crazy-read at least one book from every subject heading in the Library of Congress classification schedule...we'll see how that goes.
Might as well throw in a Dewey Decimal Challenge as well, and I track the progress here

My mom lives in Irving, actually. (Have I mentioned this to you before?) Every time I visit (twice a year), I end up at the Irving Half Price Books. :) I grew up in a small town about an hour-and-a-half away. Can't believe your bio teacher got away with that--Texas is such a weird place. Are you a native?
Noticed you on the "What Books?" post on ER. Hope you don't mind but I copied your tracker. At first sight it threw me since I'm well past ovulation. I'm not as organized as you in my reading. Old age has given me permission to read a lot of fluff. I'm catalogging my home library and finding buried as yet untouched treasure, so I expect to have my own chalange before too long.
Bedtime story reader and disciplinarian too..?

you will reap the rewards, I promise. I swear , if I hear one more parent ask a child if he is ready to go
or wants to do this or that .. instead of telling them, it is time to leave, pick up your toys etc.. my head will explode.

Where I work, our classroom had an intervention of sorts because we use the word NO!
I never see parents holding hands or teaching kids that some things are not okay..
or mommy is the one in charge. Sheeesh!

Anyway.. I repeat.. Kudos to you.. and keep up the good work !

I started in August and am doing the school library tract along with the general.
Hi are you still at UNT or have you finished the program yet? I am smack dab in the middle of the program which of course is how I found out about this site. It is really cool.
Best wishes from a fellow SLIS student.
Thank you, Kaeli. I've now added your reviews which are numbers 213 and 244. You might want to just double check that I didn't miss out on any formatting you wanted (italics and the like). The wiki code is completely different from the html used in LT so it has to be added in and I know I've probably missed some.
Hi, Kaeli. On Go Review That Book!, I've created a group Wiki page to keep track of the progress of the game and the reviews that have been generated. Some may find it easier to read the reviews by having them in one handy place. There's a discussion thread in the group and this is the first Wiki page if you are interested in having a look. To avoid any difficulties with copyright, I'm seeking your consent to add your reviews to the group Wiki page.
Hi Kaeli,

I'm Katie, we share some of the same groups here on LT. One of the them (just as a reminder) is Atwoodians, where I posted that I was from Austin and you said that it was the best place to live :p

I saw in a post that you attended the UNT online program, and I just wanted to ask you a few questions about admissions and what they look for in applicants. I'm not sure if that's something that you would want to answer or even could answer, but just let me know if it's okay if I pick your brain.

Thank you!
Hi there, I'm happy to send you the copy of On Becoming An Alchemist. If you would like to exchange books, do you have a lit of books you are looking to exchange? If not, I'd be glad to send it to you gratis. I simply need your address. If you like sending books around, you should consider joining PaperbackSwap, or BookCrossing!
I was checking your reading challenges and I saw you still need books for some categories. Here are some suggestions.
DDC:
210 Philosophy & theory of religion: Karen Armstrong: The Great transformation: The beginning of our religious traditions
250 Christian pastoral practice: Richard Taylor: How to read a church (although that's perhaps better in 260)
399 Customs of war & diplomacy: Sun Zu: The Art of War
690 Building & construction: W. Hodding Carter: Flushed: How the Plumber Saved Civilization (surprisingly interesting book about the history of plumbing)
090 Manuscripts & rare books: check http://readingarchives.blogspot.com (eg. Karel Van Der Toorn, Scribal Culture and the Making of the Hebrew Bible; Raymond Clemens and Timothy Graham, Introduction to Manuscript Studies)
Greetings

Hello Kaeli

Thank you for adding me as a friend. I wish you a pathway to the self where you live your highest truth and connect with the light inside. May yours be a soul centered life where you choose your dreams and may inner contentment and reverence for life be a garment that embraces your spirit.

Have a beautiful day.

Micheal
I gave the zoo yoga book to the OT in our room today...
She is very special, and does good things for our kids. I have reviewed several
from Hunter House, I think that was my favorite !

You have a tough but important job, raising a child with autism. Do not give up, work hard, love him...
but I have a feeling that you know that..

not all do.... sadly
Very useful reviews. Got me interested in the books. You have a wonderful ability to remain skeptical in a good way in the face of authorial authority.
I couldn't believe my eyes when I noticed somebody else had Kirchner's "Arcana for a New Dark Age." I make myself meditate over it everytime I start feeling smug. Welcome to LibraryThing!
