Hi, Jill,

Four blocks to and from work are more than I was doing before June. I haven't missed a Monday, Wednesday, Friday walk since we started, and I am pretty certain about tomorrow. Thank you for getting me out, and good luck getting yourself to speed up your heart.

Robert
Jill,

I apologize; I should not have put you on the spot. I did not mean to. I wasn't aware that it was you who overlooked xorscape. But it was thoughtless not to be much more judicious in my wording; I will do better next time.

Best regards,

Robert
Oh, dear, you struck fear in my heart. What is your Kindle doing? I have not had one little glitch and I have my fingers crossed so that continues. What's wrong with yours? And have you talked to Amazon?

I am holding my breath, virtually, until I know. Thanks in advance for taking the time to "brief" me. - Maggie
Hi! In response to your comment: I went to Arcadia and graduated in '02. That was right before the Landman Library got a makeover. (I regret that I wasn't able to take avantage of the new library while I was an English major at the college!) But I hear from others that the library has greatly improved after renovations. I still live close by (I'm actually in Abington) so I might drop by to check out the library for myself one of these days.

Good luck to your son in his studies there! Tell him to take advantage of the studying abroad and the career services office- the former is an amazing experience, and I regret not using the latter more!
Hi Jill,
I found Pilgrim's Inn yesterday, at my favourite used bookstore.
It looks like the kind of books that might put one in a good mood, and I think I shall tackle it soon.
What are the other two in the trilogy?
Happy reading.

Paola :-))
We share LT anniversary. . . and 10 good books! Lovely to be "together" across the miles.
Thanks for the kind support, Jill!
Thanks jill!

I did see your comment, and I am glad you found the update...
I wouldn't want you to download it either!

I appreciate that you popped over to let me know!

Hi, Jill,
How are you doing? How's business travel? I hope you are still giving the treadmill a workout. I haven't been as commited to walking as I should be but I want to change that. Thanks for your support. You and Robert help a lot.

Carrie
Hi, Jill,

I just told Carrie that I owe you both thanks for motivating me to get out and walk. In just two weeks my physical and mental fitness have improved enough for me to notice it, and I don't have to struggle to get underway.

I hope that you got some mileage on the treadmill if not out in nature and that things are going well for you.

Thanks,

Robert
Hi Jill, How is your walking going? I haven't walked this weekend but I did push mow my yard. Half Sunday and half Saturday. We have a large lot and it is slightly uphill so I walked about an hour each day.
Good luck with your walking.
Carrie
I can't say much more in encouragement than "keep it up." So, keep it up! A mile is good.

Robert
That's wonderful!! I haven't been walking too much. It's been raining and I've been lazy. My son's graduation is tonight and the weather is supposed to get nice so I will get started. Keep up the good work!

Carrie
Jill,

Hi, I just read Robert's comment and am so happy he wrote to us. I didn't do very much walking. The only walking I did was to the church and home for my son's baccalaureate. Good luck with your walking and i hope to hear from you.

Keep walking!
Carrie
Jill,

I'm writing the same note to Carrie.

Today I walked uphill for about twenty minutes and downhill for about fifteen minutes. I did it at a leisurely pace but still breathed through my mouth for a good bit of the uphill. I was especially happy that my knee did not react badly in the least.

Convential wisdom is that we are supposed to do moderate exercise, like walking, every day. I think that I will shoot now for three days a week. I have done physical therapy for my knee, but this is the first time I have exercised for exercise's sake since I retired two years ago.

I hope you have had the opportunity to go for your walk. I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Robert
hey, thanks for the nice comment about the blog. I appreciate it
Hey there! Enjoying your blog. Thanks for sharing the link.
Hi-hope I have the right person - I do if you left a note about having had polio as a child, an experience we share. I also saw that the attended UVA - one of my daughters and her husband graduated from there, and we so loved the campus. Jefferson is a palpable presence. Anyway, if you have read anything pertinent about the post-polio syndrome, I would love to know the title(s). I have been so fortunate and like to be apprised of all recent publications about it.

Take care - love your list,
Pat
The 1983 BBC Mansfield Park is also available on Netflix -- both regular and instant viewing. I look forward to watching it. Thanks for the tip.
Thanks for the comments on the blogger thread. I enjoyed looking at your blog -- especially the Austen piece. I posted a comment, but it didn't show up.

Also, I see you have at least one of the Clare Furgusson mystery series. I've read the first two and greatly enjoy them. Have you written about them on your blog?
Oh, there's lots of things... I'm primarily interested in two aspects - the 'philosophical' (how tagging can be used to paint an image/a reflection of the self, etc.) and the 'practical' (how tags can be used as navigation + how tags can be used to explore a knowledge space).
Looking at tag clouds is only a small part of this but I found some people interested in the more socio-anthropological aspects and that sent me looking ;-)
But generally speaking Del.icio.us tag clouds are very similar to each other and I think that's part because the site recommends tags to the user. LT lets the user act on his/her own and that gives more diversity in tags and in clouds, possibly reflecting a more 'true' image of the resource that have been tagged?
Also, when LT'rs tag it's for 'finding again in physical space', which means a lot of private tags indicating storage space while when tagging URL's you're more in the business of putting in virtual folders...

I could go on but right now my 4 yo is distracting me so I have to quit for now.
if not for LTers with dogs, I would be html-less. See you soon. Have fun.
Carrie
