Tietoja minustaSurely you've seen me? The woman vacuuming with book in hand? You know, the one who arrives early for appointments so she can read in the waiting room. Who hangs out at the bookstore and forces herself to drink a peppermint Italian soda (with whipped cream)so she can 'browse' while she drinks? Who stuffs at least two books and two magazines in her carry-on and then hangs out at the airport book kiosk? That's me!

Tietoja kirjastostaniSome of the books that I have reviewed here at LT were given to me by the Amazon Vine Program; the books were free but the reviews are my honest, and, all too often snarky, opinion.

The books in my LibraryThing library are all books that I read - some are much better than others.
***** is outstanding.
**** is good enough to re-read.
*** means that I finished it and enjoyed it.
** is thank goodness that's over.
* is omg, I spent $ on that?

Hi, Diana. Thanks for adding my library to your list of interesting one. Hope you find a good suggestion or two there!

~Deborah
Hiya ! I loved The Guernsey Literary... novel ! It is a beautiful light-hearted story . I'm in the middle of reading Sugar Queen . So far its pretty good . You have a very interesting list too !
Hiya ! Thanks for adding me to your interesting libraries ! I'm quite flattered !
Noticed that you liked The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here (as well as on a few other book-related sites). I thought you might like my novel since it's been compared to that novel by a number of reviewers. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like. Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

Thanks skankycat. That is Abby and she is one of our babies. We have many. Oftentimes there is one curled up, or in Abby's case OOOOFed, up in/on my lap while I am reading or on the computer. (7 of you (skankycats) plus a very vocal lovebird)
I like your pic too. She has my dream job, how about you?
Happy trails.

P.S. very interesting library you have there so I highlighted you. Okay?
later days babe
Thanks!
Hey Diana,

Saw you post on the romance new members. Welcome. I see we have 18 books in common, so far, let me suggest Kathleen Dante, Jaci Burton and Stephanie Laurens.
Diana,

Do not worry--I often have what I call "brain freeze" moments. Of course, I can attribute it to advancing age! And if I were to attempt Yoga, I am sure it would induce some sort of mental deficiency.

Thanks for the offer to photocopy. Your first post gave me the idea to see if I can get the "Quebec to New Orleans" book through interlibrary loan at the Chicago Public Library, so I will try that. It sounds like an interesting history, so I would like to check out the entire book. Then, if I like it, I can buy it.

Lisa
Diana,

Saw your post in the Dante thread in Club Read, came to your profile, saw the book "From Quebec to New Orleans" and had to comment. My mother's side of the family was French Canadian, ultimately settling in the Kankakee, Illinois area. Is that area covered in the book? You rated it highly--what is it that you liked? I see that I can get used copies for around $25 to $30, but sure would not want to spend that kind of money if I don't think I will like it.

Thanks!

Lisa
North Georgia Mts.--Dahlonega,Ga.area--so we're probably on a line with each other--our woods are the same as yours--when I read a good book or find one worth the effort to read--I rejoice and share--I hope for the same--sifting thru to find good reads with what's out there is hard for one person--or two but eventually thru discussions I might find another source of a good read--I am also at the point where I can do what it is I want to do--books and good reading--in front of a nice fire with my wife, and dogs,no T.V.and a comfortable chair--what more can I ask--in the near future I'll visit your
5 star selection and look forward to it--if I can help you find something in gardening--ask.Corkster at your service--may the God of good books bless you
Your profile picture--reminds me of Wilkie Collins covers --Have you read him--would be interested in your opinion--of his works "The Woman In White"(for example)any suggestions are thought out-guaranteed--good reading no waste of money here
Hi, this may sound very odd but I think we've both left our review for the new Liz Carlyle book on Amazon.com and Library Thing. Always nice to find another historical romance lover! :-)
re: Frances Parkinson Keyes

I have only read a few of her books, they're really difficult to find around here! Obviously new bookstores won't have them, but the library and thrift shops usually don't, either. And used bookstores? No way!

I've managed to get quite a few through the Internet, thankfully, so I'm hoping to go on a FPK-blitz this summer when I'm not in school! Her books are so much fun :)
Hi!
I bought all Cadell books (as are available or reasonably priced) in hardcover. Some of her's are above $200!
She is like eating "comfort food"....when I get sick of so-so books I grab one of her's.
I have re-read her books multi times.
Glad to meet another Cadell fan...
Sheila
