I must confess that I have not yet had the chance to read Dowswell's books. I would note, however, that they are generally identified as being in the young read category (Grades 5-9). There is nothing inherently wrong with that, but it does suggest a focus, sophistication, and style of writing that it isn't going to be the next O'Briank, Kent, Lambdin, etc....

I have enjoyed the Druett books, but they are basically mystery novels with a nautical theme (as opposed to nautical novels with a mystery theme). I see from your library that you have read Wilder Perkins' mysteries. If you liked those, Druett's certainly worth a shot, but I tend to prefer Perkins.

I just started putting "tags" into my entries last night so I have about 600 more listed books to add tags to. A good many of those are also nautical fiction so that tag in my library will grow to around 200 or so before it's done. I've also got about 2,000 more books awaiting entry, so this entire process will take a good bit more time to complete. I am, however, commited to getting everyhing listed. For better and for worse.
