Tietoja minusta Just moved back to my native Germany after 14 years abroad! This is going to be interesting...

My favourite addiction besides Livejournal is reading books and bookcrossing.

I love to read, although I do not manage to read as much as I used to. Genres I like to read: Fantasy and SF, crime novels, thrillers, historical novels... At the moment I am into Vampire novels and all things supernatural. And every now and then I pick something, that is not my usual taste - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Tietoja kirjastostani I have finally registered all books currently on my real bookshelfs, plus a good helping of books I read over the last three years. There are still many books on my BC shelf that need to be added here and anything else I remember from before BC. That will take a while, but will get done eventually.

Any books catalogued without review are TBR.
Anything I am willing to give away, is listed on Bookmooch, same username.

Always nice to find other fans of Martin. I still have A Feast for Crows left to read in ASOIF. How did you like it?

And of course, you have to love Tolkien.

Also, which novels by Wilbur Smith would you recommend? I read Triumph of the Sun a while back, and it was pretty good.

Great to find someone else with similar interests! What's your current favorite read?
If you drop it half way then it looks it was a boring book. Have you ever read Michael Connelly's books? I recommend "Angel Flight" and "Blood Work" very good books of his if you like thrillers and crimes.

What are good authors that you like to read? What do you recommend?
Anytime, its nice to know someone from my home town.
So what are you up to in reading. What are you reading now?
Hi Cathy,

Hope your not going to be surprised, because I lived in Cairo too for 11 years like Tina. Looking at your library I can see you are starting in the Dresden File series. Trust me once Tina told me about them I'm hooked on them and you will never regret it. I totally recommend that you keep going in this series I already finished the first two books the second one gets better. As Tina tells me the coming ones will make me more hooked.

I thought it would be good to meet a person that went to Cairo. Hope you liked it over there.

Have a great week.

Jody.
Thanks for the recommendation. I'm always interested in good books I haven't read yet. So many books, so little time, you know...
Actually, I've never read M.R. Sellars' Rowan Gant books. What are they about?
I love the Kitty Norville books as well! I'm not sure if you read these Urban Fantasy books, but they're quite good: Halfway to The Grave by Jeaniene Frost, Karen Marie Moning's Fever series, Jeanne C. Stein's Anna Strong series, Jim Butcher's Dresden Files (my favorite), Rachel Caine's Weather Warden series and Vicki Pettersson's Zodiac series. I'm trying to restrain myself from recommending all my favorite books lol
Hi Cathy,

Thanks for the add! The pictures on my profile page are done by Heise, a digital painter at deviantart.com. I think her work is fantastic.

I'm having fun browsing your library and pleasantly surprised that you live in Cairo. I lived there for about 11 years :)

Read any good books lately?

Tina
I noticed that you loved The Descent by Jeff Long, me too!! I have had a lingering question about the book and I would love you input. At the beginning of the book when Ike's group is in the cave, is the corpse of Isaac really alive? I thought it was just a corpse but then later it says that Ike noticed it was smiling? Also, do you know of any forums or boards that Discuss Jeff Long's books?
