Tietoja minusta Sari and Jukka, our library

We're both more or less fans of the fantastic ie. science fiction, fantasy, magic realism and the like. Sari is really into WW1, atomic bombs and music, while Jukka tries to explain to people his fondness for pulp, military sf and new weird. We're both active in Finnish fandom, and Jukka is one of the main organisers of Finncon 2009.

Jukka buys too many books and manages to read far too few of those, while Sari reads too many books and is surprisingly unable to find anything to read from our library.

Hi, I'm trying to upload covers to ace doubles that are normal sized. My two attempts have resulted in very small covers. I see you have the cover to People Minus X/Lest We Forget Thee, Earth that is normal sized. Did you upload the cover? If so can you tell me what you did? Thanks, Howie

Thanks, I sort of thought the Bester was either The Stars My Destination or The Demolished man, but alas, I don't read any language but English.

I see your translation listed on Ben Rosenbaum's web page! It is great that you translated his story so it can get a wider audience and a pity he did not win the Hugo last year for "Biographical Notes to 'A Discourse on the Nature of Causality, with Air-Planes' by Benjamin Rosenbaum". Luckily for me, I live in the Washington DC area and so does he, so I get to see him at local conventions occasionally. If you ever get a chance, go to one of his readings, which he does quite well.

I clicked on your profile because I also have Benjamin Rosenbaums _Other Cities_. Where did you pick up your copy? I found out about this chapbook when Ben read some stories at a World Fantasy Convention in Washington, DC. I really like his stuff!

Is the copy of Alfred Bester you have in Finnish (Määränpäänä Tähdet)? Does a lot of English science fiction and fantasy get translated in Finnish? My husband was sent a copy of a Ray Bradbury book in Swedish and the fan who sent it said very little science fiction was being translated into Swedish: she read most recent books in English.
