So delighted to have you as a new friend. One needs friends ... just makes the world a happier place!
Hey there! It sure looks like we have books in common. I visit historicalfiction.org every day, so I have seen you there. I have yet to read your book (I am in Jamie & Claire world at the moment), but plan on it as soon as I am finished with Outlander. I have heard many good things, so congratulations!!

Thanks for the note. It is so cool to me that a few of the authors I read and admire are so easily accessible. Have a good Wednesday!
To begin with, we could make a list of articles that are already available on the Internet.
Hi Susan, I think this is a great idea of Kate's. I wonder if there's a way to catelogue articles. Those we could share electronically.

Stay away from The Hours and even further from the movie. It's so dull.
I'm so glad there is someone else who shares my opinion of Mrs Dalloway. I had to do an MA module on Mrs Dalloway and we had to read The Hours and watch the Hours as well.
No, I haven't read the Jean Plaidy book, but I have it on my wish list now. Thanks a lot! Have you started A Place of Greater Safety? Or are you holding off? :-)
Susan, just wanted to drop you a line that I finished A Place of Greater Safety late last night and it was very, very good! I think Mantel is an excellent writer.
Hi Susan-
I am about 150 pages through A Place of Greater Safety now. So, taking the next words with a grain of salt as I'm only about 1/6 of the way through ... I'm REALLY enjoying the story! I find the French Revolution fascinating, but I don't know much about the people involved in the legwork of it. Mantel portrays her characters so well, and she has such a subtle, fine sense of humor. And she really writes very, very well. I think this might be one of those books which I'll finish and think, "WHY did I let that sit on my shelf for so long?!"

So, in short, I think I would say to you- if your library has it ready for you, I'd dig in and read it :-)
