Mountain View Public Library in Mtn. View, CA (Silicon Valley); but I'm still working on my Masters in LIS and work p/t as a Children's Librarian and p/t as a Tech Aide (in the library). Funny how we all seem to congregate on LibraryThing...or Bookmooch or Ravelry... Lynn
If you ever decide to get rid of "Modular Crochet" let me know, I'd love to buy it.

Regards,
Lynn

Amen to all that you said:-) I do understand the SF...as my husband brings more home from his storage unit, we keep finding duplicates he bought (we have already weeded out our physical duplicate, except for, say, my 4 hardcover copies of The Handmaid's Tale and 4 copies of Jane Eyre. . .). Best, Lois
Hm, interesting you have put all your SF books in another account. I have read a fair amount of SF and am happy to put it in 'my' library but I certainly didn't want to have to answer for my husband's rather massive collection which isn't even all catalogued yet! We did eliminate duplicates and we overlap about 300 books so far. Then there were the kids' books and books I had as a child (some)...that's when I decided I needed another account (still entering though; boxing as I go).

I have only read parts of The Transcendental Wife. I got interested in Abigail May Alcott after taking a tour of Fruitlands several years ago (I ended up getting married there a few years back on her birthday!). One has to wonder about a woman who put up with Bronson Alcott. She is fascinating in her own right; and Louisa and she were very close (and perhaps very much alike). I thought "Louisa May Alcott : A Modern Biography" was very good also.

Best, Lois
Hi, I just came over to check out the other user who has a copy of "The Transcendental Wife". We certainly share the oddest collection of 16 books I've run across recently:-) Best, Lois
