Tietoja kirjastostaniI've only put in some of my books at the moment. I have LOTS more! I've recently been trying to list them all, and ended up doing in shelf by shelf rather than according to author or subject.

Thank you for adding me to your interesting libraries Moira!
Depends on the mood I'm in. Paladin of Souls is my favourite of her fantasy. I'm still getting the Sharing Knife ones. (in spite of the lack of action for most of first book I rather enjoyed it, but then I gather the first two books were originally one volume split for reasons of size which does explain a lot). But still I do enjoy the Vorkosigan series as well. Hard to pick a favourite there though.

Have you read any of the Liad series by Steve Miller and Sharon Lee? I found it through the Bujold mailing list.
Hello Ariom,
Thank you for the message about my Doctor Who collection. I am sorry that it took long to respond, I am slow at these things :)

I joined LT not only to catalog my collection of books but to also use it's great mobile feature. When I am at a used book store there is no way that I can remember all that I have and which one or two DrWho books in the series that I may be missing!

As far as Blake's 7 - I only have two of the books (and the programme guide, of course). Not much else is to be found. I am just waiting patiently for the series to be released on DVD here in the USA. I have an all-region dvd player but figured I'd see what R1 has to offer.

Take care,
Darr
Hello!

I was so excited to receive your message, especially since I've never communicated with an Australian before. Thanks for writing! I enjoyed your website information and, of course, your pictures.

To answer your questions, I have not read anything by McCall-Smith or Vickers. I do intend to read The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency but am tied up right now with four books: Ghost Soldiers, Pillars of the Earth, World Without End, and Love in the Time of Cholera. It seems there is never enough time to read everything I'm dying to read.

G'Day! (I've never said that before, but if feels beautiful!)

Jennifer
Hello Ariom,
Many thanks for contacting me and for adding me to your list of 'Interesting Libraries'. I am delighted that you find it (er) interesting, because it just goes to prove that I am doing something right in putting my collection together.I assure you that it has taken many years to get it to the size and shape that it is.
Salley Vickers is quite a strong character, and as a matter of fact we (my wife and I) went to a talk and book signing by her at our local bookshop recently.I had just read her book 'Miss Garnet's Angel',which I certainly found a unique and well-written story.
I agree with you regarding the 'Blake's 7'' books. The TV series, which I loved, were 100 per cent better. It's funny you know, that although as we all knew the sets, costumes and effects were all somewhat on the cheap side, the series was still an excellent one. I think the actors and actresses were so good, that they carried everything along with them.
I see that at least one of your books is a H.P.Lovecraft. Have you read his book "The Case of Charles Dexter Ward",if not ,do try to get hold of a copy as it is well worth reading. See one of my Reviews to give you a better idea.
Anyway nice to hear from you and do keep in touch.
Best wishes from the UK

Hi Ariom

Thanks for your comment. I love LMB and the Vorkosigan series in particular. As for Sharing knife, I'm willing to wait to see how the next one is before really deciding - I adored the Chalion sequence and can only hope the Sharing knife ones will get better! As for the Miles books , they are the greatest but I once heard the author speak at a conference and she said that she created plots by thinking what was the worst thing that could happen to a character and how would they deal with it - maybe she thinks Miles has had his fair share of traumas! There were signs, in one of the later books, that Ivan might be the subject of a book or short story, here's hoping! I'm frankly desperate enough to read anything LMB writes.
I did adore Blake's 7 as a series, and agree the books are very poor. I picked one up second-hand and am holding onto it for old times sake.
I really like Tanya Huff's Valor series and am only gradually getting into the others. I will give the Blood series a try on your recommendation.
Best wishes from a very rainy, windy and cold Scotland.

There was a more recent tv miniseries A for Andromeda, as well.

Blake's 7 fan? Absolutely, have watched it multiple times. There are a handful of books.
Hi Ariom,

Thank you for your comment. Yes, we do share an affinity for Tudor Literature. I am just now getting into Jean Plaidy's books. I did like The Boleyn Inheritance. There is a new book out about Jane Boleyn by an author named Brandy Purdy. That is on my wish list. I have not yet read Pillars of The Earth, just bought it and have not read any of Ken Follett's other stuff.
Nice to "meet" you. You do seem to have good taste in books :)
B7 was my first active media fandom - I got dragged into it about the same time as I stepped rather more willingly into SF fandom...

Thank you for liking Quibell. I like it too. Judith Proctor republished it about ten years back, and now has it up on the Net, along with other early B7 stuff of mine (though she could never get 'Shepherd' right, and it tends to be under 'Sheppard').

Your real name is vaguely familiar (mine is not particularly known in media fandom.) Have we ever corresponded, or do I know your name through a friend? Most of the people I know in Australia live around Melbourne, and were mainly Professionals fans. (I'm afraid I was in that crowd too...)
For my sins, I was in B7 fandom at its inception... and am still, sort of, a fan, though I have not been active for many years!
Hello Ariom, thank you for the comment. I am always looking for new reading material so I will check out the author you recommended. Oh how I wish I was in Australia right now! We are experiencing one of the worst winter seasons, brutal cold and a lot of snow! I am going to add you to my interesting library list. Take care. Erin
