Hi! I've been wondering who William Dorr was for about a year now! I've been seeing our collections overlap for about a year now. It's hilarious that we finally met -- but didn't know we were both part of this site!
Don't remind me! I can already see my parents rolling their eyes...
Thanks, I'm so glad. Hopefully more of the thirty-odd Houstonians invited will do likewise. :) I've posted a couple of messages, inconsequential but perhaps good to get us going.

Bostonhistory does do LibraryThing! I hope you'll keep reading the blog even though you're now deep in the heart of Texas.
As a gentleman I would never draw attention to that fact! But it is so. :)
Airminded loves LibraryThing! Airminded glories in his vast empire of books! Airminded is going to stop talking like Bob Dole, because it's kind of creepy!
LUCK-Y!!!!!!!!!

no, I was terribly let down on Xmas morn... any more at that price?

Did you see Kevin Drum highlighting the AHA? I see that a prof at my wife's soon-to-be alma mater, Rob MacDougall at UWO, won the best post cliopatria award. go Mustangs, eh?

I tried to comment when I saw your AHA post, but Blogger ate it, apparently. I was wishing I could have seen the sessions on brewing history - can't remember titles now, but all looked whimsically interesting.

I should have stuck with academia, it suits my temperment. Except for the students. Ah well, there's always retirement for finishing grad school.

good luck with the employment thing. Good schmoozing, was it?
haven't read it yet.. tagged wishlist.

But, I have a strong apprehension, since I have been a good boy this year, that Santa may grant my wish.

One day I hope to do the route of the Arnold expedition. My several G-Grandfather Joel Loveland is reputed to have died 28Feb1776 of Smallpox, a prisoner in Quebec.

It is fun. I like the pretty pictures of the book covers!

Actually, I'm not quite sure what the point is yet, but I thought I'd play with it for a few weeks. Right now, I'm just putting up all the books I read from the library. There's not enough time to start posting my personal library!
