I'm so pleased to see this library at my alma mater. I came out at Michigan in the fall of 1986, my senior year. My debut was ushering a Holly Near concert on campus. None of the other ushers (I think that all of us were lesbian or bi) paid any attention to me and I felt like a total outsider. Maybe, it was because my hair was cut in a bob style at the time, which was not like the others, most of whom had mullets -- seriously, that's what was in vogue then.

I never tried anything community-oriented at Michigan after that and waited till I got to Chicago, where I lived for nine years and where I was very active in the community.

All's well that ends well. This library is a sign of a much more vibrant campus community, I infer. Good for you guys! I'm going to add the library to my LibraryThing friends.
