I bet you've read some other Kipling

http://www.librarything.com/author/kipli...
did we ever read this?

http://www.librarything.com/work/20265/d...
hi Tom

I got this one from bjf.

I bet it's one you've read too!

http://www.librarything.com/work/2382908
wow, here's a library that could interest you!

http://www.librarything.com/profile/thom...
oh yes.. Brunhoff was the author of Babar

http://www.librarything.com/author/brunh...

I wonder if you can remember any of them?
here it is

click on the amazon link at right for a description
speaking of something strange, I have only now seen your messages to me. I am pretty sure they weren't there before, but could be wrong.

in any case, I no longer know what I sent that you didn't get. The Mushroom one was a link to the author, but there was another author too... maybe it will come to me
here's two kid's books types we shouldbn't overlook: Babar and the Mushroom Planet

yay, just got another one from you. How could I forget the Incredible Journey?
you and I now have 229 books that we've read in common, and you continue to be at the top of my list in "weighted" rankings of congruent libraries.
on Burr, one thing I realized from my listings is that I never actually finished the book. It came at a bad time or soemthing. I plan to go back and read it all.
I think that this is one you've read

http://www.librarything.com/work/96609/b...

Here's a description of the stories, if that helps

Here are some you might not have thought of

Tom Corbett (Mission to Mars)
Tom Swift

Bobsey Twins
Happy Hollisters

Nancy Drew
Hardy Boys
I sometimes think of books we had around that you might have read, including those I didn't. Here are two

King Solomon's Ring, by Konrad Lorenz
and
The Overloaded Ark by Gerald Durrell
Say, here's a site that might help us remember which Curious George books we had at home.

http://cutecartoons.net/curiousgeorge3.h...

I figure we had Curious George, the original, and see that you listed CG flies a Kite and CG Visits the Hospital. I take it we had those? Any others?

CG Gets a Job?
Since my real goal was to enter books I've read, I actually figure just hit 1000 about now. As you can see if you view my tags, my list includes about 60 not finished, plus 25 unread (mainly signed copies that I wanted to have a list of), and some others that I'm currently reading. So if it had been a competition, maybe you'd win.

I always feel guilty not finishing a book, and am surprised at how many there are. this will give me a way to ensure that I go back and finish a lot of them. As for why I entered them, well, if I've spent enough time with a book, and gotten more than halfway done, and it has had an impact on my life, then I want to keep track of it.
I also enjoyed Bonfire of the Vanities and thought it was a significant book. The Parker books are ideal for during holidays or when one is sick, when one isn't able to concentrate on longer, deeper books -- they go quickly, are fun, yet have good characters and plots. Thanks for replying, Martha Huntley
From looking at your list, I think you've picked up a BUNCH from me. No wonder your library is so congruent with mine. Your's is #1 at LT in terms of percent overlap with mine. Clearly we have good taste.
hey, now, it's not a competition!

Going to be a long time before I ever got to 2000. I doubt I've read that many
yes, it had Tom Hanks in it. I saw an excerpt of the beginning, where he's trying to walk the dog and call his girlfriend, and it was quite amusing. Anyway, if you want to hear the book on tape I can lend it. It's on casette. John Lithgow does the narration, and he achieves the PERFECT sense of outrage and satire with his tone.
say, do you ever listen to books on tape? I know you liked Bonfire of the Vanities, which I loved. I have it on tape, and it was wonderfully done! In fact, I listened to it in the same weeks I was reading the book, and one enhanced the other. Now I just have to see the movie
I agree with your approach of only listing books read. But I have added some, with the "tag" unread including some signed books, and some other special ones. I also added some that I am currently reading and some that are unfinished (also with tags).

Yes, I noticed the separated volumes of A Thousand and One Nights. I am proud of having resisted moving them together on your shelf.
Well, TommyB, where do you live and what do you do? We have 19 books in common, seem to like the same kind of mysteries (those fast fun reads), some best sellers, some kids books and a couple of off beat ones. Martha Huntley
so, I take it your list will just be those you've read, right? I intended to have mine be that, but some have sneaked in that I haven't finished, plus some collector's items (Signed books) that I haven't necessarily read.
wow, you are number ONE on my list of people with whom I share books (the weighted, not the raw number). Of course this is partly because I scan your files to see what you have that I have or in the case of fiction, have at least read.
I see you need an author for Doctor Dolittle's Garden. It's Hugh Lofting, and here's the main page for your bok

http://www.librarything.com/work/18632

Wish I could remember which of the Dr L books I've read.
yes, those two are the ones I recognized. I own Georgie Finds a GP; and the Five Pennies one I only remembered from the cover. A lot of the other kids books I picked up (as one's I'd read, but don't own), from perusing your list and bjf's
acck, I can't remember which Oz books I've read. They were all in that nice yellow volume we had at home....
I wonder if you recognize any of these

http://loganberrybooks.com/most-young.ht...
today on the way home I thought of Mike Mulligan, and thought I'd surprise you by suggesting it. And here I find that you've already got it!
Hi TommyB

I couldn't help but notice how many books you have in common with one of my LibraryThing friends, a person by the name of brendajanefrank. :-)
