Tietoja kirjastostani I hope you enjoy browsing our shelves! Grab an intriguing book and make yourself comfortable on the loveseat. The tea kettle is whistling, and I’ll pour you a cup.
Just in case you really want to know, I'll give a brief "tour" and explain how things are organized:
IF you sort the list by "tags" (by clicking on the blue "tag" label at the top of the columns) the books will reshelve themselves more or less chronologically. (Except that I'll stick reference books, other non-chronological things at the end.)
It isn't perfect, but after clicking "tags" at the top you'll find the Ancients on the first few pages, the Middle Ages near the middle, and Moderns at the end, with books everywhere inbetween.
Key to some of the "Tags":
TOG=Tapestry of Grace. It is a literature/history/arts/worldview curriculum we like. Not all are titles listed by TOG (Most aren't in fact), but are titles corresponding to (or supplementing and enriching)TOG studies and subjects.
Grammar, Dialectic, and Rhetoric correspond to Trivium Levels:
Grammar Level is roughly elementary school age.
Dialectic Level is roughly middle school.
Rhetoric Level is roughly highschool/college level materials.
Spine = resource used as a spine, backbone, or "glue" between the living books. Spines provide overview and span multiple units which will also be listed as tags.
The first "tag" listed will be a number and letter, such as 1A or 3C. These help keep things grouped historically and also are a stab at coordinating the book to Tapestry units. 1A would be Year1, Unit 1. 3C is Year1 Unit3. Because Tapestry is chronological, it helps keep the library tidy, and should also assist in finding books to go along with any chronological history spine. (As long as the person viewing clicks to have it sorted by “tags.”)
This catalog is primarily to keep track of living books that bring our history and literature studies to life, but I'm working to add our other books too. So far, it is not an accurate representation of all our bookshelves. (If it is on here, I own it. If it isn't--I might just not have entered it yet.)
(Like most everything, it is a work in progress.)
