Tietoja minusta Londoner, 36 years old, gay, atheist, advertising executive, male. Top 5 books that I've read (but are not necessarily in my library, as I tend to give the books I love away to friends): Pilgrim by Timothy Findley, The Blind Assasin by Margaret Atwood, Memoirs of Hadrian by Yourcenar, How to Be Alone by Jonathan Franzen, and The Little Prince.

Tietoja kirjastostani I have no idea where all of my Atwood has gone. I bought ALL of her novels and read them in Chronological order. If you haven't done that with an author I recommend it. It is fascinating to watch an authors writing develop, and common themes or even full sentences re-used. I have also misplaced my Kurt Vonnegut, had all of his novels as well. I have waaay too much Noam Chomsky, as most of his books are VERY similar, only every 4 or 5 books does he have something new to say. Here is a bit of fun, read Chomsky, then Ayn Rand, then Chomsky, then Ayn Rand. Am I a freak? The pic on my profile is from Gashleycrumb Tinies by Edward Gorey. I use it cause it is like having a skull on your desk. Reminds you that we are all going to die someday, so we should live, love and read as much as possible.

I like your memento mori. You know Gorey was a big fan of E. F. Benson, especially his Mapp and Lucia novels. They are really very funny and very campy. There are 8 of them and each one is better then the one before. They have no redeeming social or political messages to impart and probably won't mix well with either Chomsky or Rand, but there great when you need absolute silliness in your life.
