Tietoja minusta I am training to become a children's librarian in a public library. I'm a member of the American Library Association and its Association for Library Service to Children. I read a lot of young adult titles, but I mostly work with preschoolers and elementary school children. I am trying to learn more about America's diverse ethnic and racial heritage, as well as about literatures and cultures around the world. I hope this is reflected in my library.
Tietoja kirjastostani My professional training explains why there are so many picture books and titles for young readers in my library! I am slowly adding books as I read them, or as I remember that I have read them. I've been a Brit Lit junkie since I read Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights at age 12, so books by and about British authors are quite common in my library.

P.S. I am a school librarian--that must be why we share so many books.

Thanks for replying. Lucky you meeting Markus Zusak - his writing is very sensitive. Have you read any of his other novels? Can you recommend any?
happy reading

Thanks for your reply. I followed 'A Thousand Splendid Suns' with 'The Book Thief' - realised the relevance of your online name! That too was an absolutely brilliant book - surprising similiar to Thousand Suns yet so original.
Best wishes

I've just finished reading A Thousand Splendid Suns and enjoyed reading your review. Funnily enough my overriding thought this week while reading the novel has been how lucky I am and how awful it must be to live in a country brought to its knees by war. I feel that I've just been educated through this novel.
Best wishes
