Hello! I added over 30 covers of The Real Book About/Of series - we share six titles in case you'd like to add covers.
Regards!
I just added In Search of Ancient Crete, fyi.
Cover added for Roman Roads -- and a whole slew of other books lately. I just LOVE seeing the covers! Found any good old books lately?

Uploading images can be a bit tricky, especially the part about making sure they aren't too big for LT to accept. Every time I forget that I end up waiting a long time for things not to work. I'm glad mine are of some use to you, but with only a 5% overlap it's a limited sort of use!
If you're interested in adding book covers, I think that I have covers for all (or nearly all) of the 426 (or 473 depending whether you believe the count on the profile page or on the library pages -- I suppose the 426 is discrete works) books we share. Some that only the two of us share are Almedingen's Picture History of Russia, Where's the Bunny (I had to use the title page - the cover is in sad shape), and Glubok's Art of the Spanish. Only a bit more common are the Robert Lawrence opera books and a couple of Coatsworths.

I was just bemoaning on Amy's (SaintSunniva's) page that I have lost the link that gives a list of all the coverless books in one's own library! But when I did have it I made extensive use of it.

Apparently your library is more similar to mine than mine is to yours (have I got that the right way round?); yours always appears in the top five similar libraries on my profile page and mine doesn't show up on yours at all!
Hello Laura,
I added covers for my Elizabeth Coatsworth books.

Hi Laura,
I just added A Grandma for Christmas -- I'm in the middle of adding covers for my many books to do with Norway.
Amy
Hello,
I'm adding covers for all my Petersham and D'Aulaire books. Some are rebound ex-lib and so, if the cover is particularly bland, I'm using an illustration or the title page in lieu of the true cover.
Amy
Let me know when you scan the cover for A Small Child's Bible, so I can mourn over mine lacking a dust jacket.
Amy
Hello!
Today I added a cover for Pelagie Doane's *A Small Child's Bible*. Unfortunately my copy is faded, and no dust jacket...but I looked again at the illustrations within. They are SO remarkably good, in my opinion. What do you think of it?
Amy
Some other covers I added, some of which we share the only copies on LT:
Ladybird - The Child of the Temple
Ladybird - Naaman and the Little Maid
Time to Laugh
the Golden Book of Quotations
The Pygmies
The Apache
Mystery of the Great Swamp
I Will Adventure

I'll stop now! I won't tell you any more covers I happen to add Unless you Ask me! Promise!
I just added about a dozen cover pictures for my Sonia Bleeker books - some might be ones you have, since you have so many.
Happy New Year!
Amy
OK, I just realized that you have 7 thousand plus books cataloged. I can't even conceive of that! I've probably got about another thousand at my house, totaling 16 hundred or so. When I look at your total, I see that it is no wonder we have a few hundred in common. Anybody would have a few hundred in common with you! lol
Thanks for the warning (and the invite to be friends here)! I have made the warning obsolete: between this site and ravelry I haven't had much time to read or knit....but I feel so MUCH more organized. lol
I just realized there's someone else here who really likes Sonia Bleeker's books about Indians and African tribes. Aren't they great? I loved them when I was a kid, and then discovered them again when homeschooling became a compelling reason to buy good books. However, of six kids, only one likes them as well as I do.
Amy
hi laura,

i saw the link to your profile page in the list of really large collections and just clicked on it for the heck of it. (i'm fairly new to this site; i've been on it for about a month.) it's neat to see the books we have in common - subjects range from operas to churchill's account of wwii to 84 charing cross rd to godel, escher, bach .... but i'm really writing because the mention of the "read-aloud handbook" in the comments on your page sent me googling to find jim trelease's web site where i just spent about 45 minutes reading healthy chunks of the online version of his book. what a delight! i've always enjoyed reading aloud. it's great to read such an affirmation of it. along these lines, i think you'd enjoy reading the call of stories by robert coles. the first chapter alone is worth the price of the book - a great description of how the author's parents read aloud to each other great works of literature, like war and peace!

peter
YEAH. I feel so proud of myself :) Now I just have to get up the gumption to keep adding books.
Yes, I participated in BSF for about five years here in the Atlanta. Did you?
I will try and overtake Booklady in the next couple of weeks :)
I discovered Jim Trelease a while ago. I've used it in my school. Check out my most recent "read-aloud" discovery: Mem Fox, "Reading Magic". Its easier to read.

I think the Read-aloud Handbook is a great reference book!
