LibraryThing really helps one to find people with similar interests outside of our locale -- it really is amazing. Certainly I agree with your sentiment; it's always heartwarming to see so much similarity of interests.
Thank you so much for the information. I have ordered used copies of both of the short story anthologies you mentioned. I am very eager to read That Alluring Land---the reviews on Amazon suggest that it is exactly the kind of thing I was hoping to find.
I notice that you have a copy of A History of Slovak Literature, and that your profile notes an interest in Slovak books and ephemera. From this I am going to make two assumptions; one, that you read and/or speak Slovak, and two, that you are interested in Slovak Literature. If I'm correct, may I ask you if you can recommend any Slovak fiction in English translation? I have Slovak ancestry, but have never been exposed to any of the region's history or culture, and I'd very much like to correct that deficiency.
Hi, I noticed several chess titles in your catalog and thought you may like to check my forum site out- www.ChessForums.org, we have a dedicated section to chess books and recommended reading you may be interested in, thanks, Greg
Oh wow, I totally forgot about the "Artur Loan." I guess that's why my parents couldn't find all the books I really wanted. You mind if I rummage through those when I'm in town?

By the way, currently I am reading/translating Karol Tarnowski's _Hearing the Invisible_, which is his magnum opus--something along the lines of Louis Dupre wrt religious experience.
CJ,

Ultra Nippon is a fantastic read. It is one of the best soccer books I've ever read because it is more than simply a book about soccer. It's a book about sports, culture, national mindset, living abroad, etc. I can thoroughly recommend it. I had to order it from Amazon.co.uk, but it was worth it.
