Hello Anneli
Thank you for the suggestion! I'll have to check out their selection next week!

Sanne
Hi Anneli
I can see that you've added several bookstores in Turku to LibrarythingLocal. Do you know anything about their selection?
I am going to Turku next week, and I'd like to know where to go for a good selection of fantasy and science fiction. And I don't read Finnish, so I have a hard time figuring it out on my own:-)
Thank you for your contribution to LibrarythingLocal!
Hi,

I really like the Youtube you posted ( OBA Bedrijfskleding, Openbare Bibliotheek Amsterdam )

Thanks for sharing!
Anneli,

Thanks so much for the information--I'll have to see what I can find.

Best,
Elizabeth
Hi, Anneli,

The new Legacy Library feature that shows us how many books we have in common with Legacy Libraries has made me interested in Eeva-Liisa Manner, whose library you entered. Do you know whether many of her works have been translated into English? Amazon shows one collected poetry edition, no longer in print and not available.

I did find a paragraph by her quoted in Wikipedia--lovely and sad about her childhood memories of being bombed during WWII.

Thanks for doing this--it has long struck me as an interesting project. My friend Jerry (Moibibliomaniac) wrote a paper about the challenges of entering legacy libraries.

Cheers,
Elizabeth
Hey. What's your game in Finland? Are you entering all the public libraries? You're doing something extraordinary!
Isot kiitokset avustasi. Ja mukava yllättyä positiivisesti LT:stä - en osannut kuvitellakaan, että löytyy tuollainen PowerEdit-moodi. Täytyy viikonloppuna katsoja jos saisi kirjojen luettelointitiedot korjattua.

Hi, thanks for your reply. You are right, the Trollkarlens Hatt does sound a bit more magical in Finnish than the English Finn Family Moomintroll.

I've always loved the Moomins though and my favourite character is Little My.

I also own the Winter Book, Summer Book and Fair Play by Tove Jansson and love them all. They have just been released here in Britain and it's about time. The Summer Book had me ready to pack up and move to an island in Finland before I had even finished reading it. I think it is beautiful.

Anyway, hope to talk to you soon, take care, Jody
Just saying hi, saw your quote for favourite first lines and yours sounded like an interesting book. Just out of interest, which Tove Jannson book to we have in common? Take care, Jody
