Tietoja kirjastostaniMy library has everything and anything in it. I live on a limited budget so I tend to pick up used items, but I'm ok with that because the less money I spend on books the more books I can buy.

Noticed you liked Girl Interrupted, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also about a disturbed young girl's mental illness and also a bit dark. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

You posted that you love Invisible Monsters. I have very mixed feelings about Palahniuk. I loved the Fight Club, a little weirded out by Haunted (not necessarily in a bad way), grossed out by Rant (even though it turned out okay), and I could not read Snuff because it was just disgusting. Where does IM fit into his grossness scale? I really thought he had so much potential for psychological exploration when I read Fight Club. I do want to try again. What do you recommend?
We only share one book. What is up with that! I haven't yet looked at your collection. I can't remember all the books that I have read. Maybe looking here will jog my memory.
odd as in worth reading or not worth reading? :) it will be a while before i get around to it. my "to be read" stack is getting out of hand.
Nope, no detailed paragraphs about Bella's beauty because, well, there are no extensive paragraphs, period. Meyer doesn't seem to have gotten beyond the comma and period as forms of punctuation, and most of her sentences are short and simple (but not short and sweet, as in Hemingway). And good god, there is no discussion of her milky breasts...as far as Meyer is concerned, Bella's the only horndog of the bunch...Edward expresses that he "wants" her, but he's in no hurry...however, I think she is working on a book that captures the events of the other books from Edward's perspective, and there might be some gushing in those....until then, we're stuck with Bella's endless descriptions of how gorgeous Edward is. It might be an entertaining read, but don't waste your time!
Did you get so far as to discover that Bella's full name is Bella Swan? They make this big deal in the book about how she doesn't feel pretty, even though Edward swears she's beautiful....so I'm thinking there's going to be an ugly duckling tie-in somewhere and that once she becomes a vampire, she'll be simply breathtaking. Honestly, you don't know what you're missing :)
Holy cow, that's a fantastically awful write-up. It's funny that you mention teenage goth fodder because it turns out that the girls attending our book group and building the most excitement for Breaking Dawn (the oh-so-glorious 4th book, coming August 2nd) are 12-16 years old and pretty clean cut. I think the gothy kids need more of the dirty stuff than Meyer is willing to provide.

Don't do it, I'm urging you.
you've added some amazing books lately and i totally agree with your ratings!
