This book about public speaking is distinct in how much it focuses on connection with the audience instead of the basics of content. I made multiple notes and ultimately bought a copy to keep on hand. Unfortunately, it's out of print, so get a used copy while you can. The original title was "Working the Room," when it was first published as Harvard University work. I had written that title down years ago and finally got to it on my reading list. Very readable, business-based. A look at why virtual communication leaves people inattentive and creates issues. Suggests approaches to mitigate the challenges. Checklists at the end of chapters.

The key idea behind his approach is that every conversation is really two conversations: the verbal and the non-verbal. Excellent communicates combine the two for maximum effect, primarily by starting with intent, which lets the sub-conscious help us achieve gestures, then thoughts, and finally the words.… (lisätietoja)
