Todd J. McCaffrey was born on April 27, 1956. His birth name was Todd Johnson. He is the youngest son of author Anne McCaffrey. Todd writes science fiction novels and is best known for his continuation of his mother's best-selling Dragonriders of Pern series. He lives in California. Didn't mind the overall storyline but a few things frustrated me.
The main villain has questionable motivation for anything he does. Just seems to head in random directions to cause trouble.
The 'missing presumed dead ' Harper also gets around a lot and seems reasonably well known in various places.
The 'head watchwhere woman' seems a completely different personality from the previous book.

I'm trying to read the Pern series in chronological order.
So, I've read Dragonsdawn, first chronicles and 2nd chronicles,
then Todd's contributions of Dragon's kin, Dragon's fire, Dragonharper and now Dragon's blood.
Todd's books are gradually getting better. The first two had such jumps in the continuity of the storyline I had to check there weren't missing pages.
I have quite enjoyed DragonHarper and now Dragon's blood.
And yes, plagues are getting overdone as a storyline and there are too many characters that are too similar to remember which is which, but basically, I enjoyed it.

And just when Todd's books were getting better.
Dragon's Kin & Dragon's Fire were not great, but had some interesting ideas at least.
I actually enjoyed Dragon Harper, Dragonsblood & Dragonheart.
Then this piece of shit.
Basically nothing happens all book except what I assume a typical Mills & Boon romance contains. Even they probably don't make such a big deal about a love triangle/quadrilateral/whatever.
It resolved maybe one minor question from the previous book. Raised another minor question and took the whole bloody 600 pages to give it an answer.
I found Fiona and her continually "flashing eyes" less and less likable as the book went on. None of the other characters were particularly likable either, but they were only bit players in Fiona's centre stage.… (lisätietoja)

Probably just because it focused more on Lorana which meant less focus on the increasingly annoying Fiona.
